I read somewhere that our income will never go higher than our skill set. For some reason that information was never conveyed to most of us until we were older adults already in the throws of life. Let's face it, if we are fortunate enough to be able to live past our 20's and into the so-called retirement years then the costs of self investments are extremely valuable to our well being as well as those around us. Regardless of who you are, what background you come from, or job you presently work, you will have to develop and strengthen your skill set in order to live your best life.
So how does one build a skill set late in life? Well, I'm glad you asked! In Proverbs 3:19 we read, "The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding He established the heavens; by His knowledge the depths were broken up, and clouds drop down the dew." What I have discovered is that wisdom finds, understanding establishes, and knowledge is built. In essence, we have to ask God for wisdom to know His will, then ask for understanding in order to be able to establish His will. Then lastly, we build that knowledge that has been given to us on a day to day basis. This may sound tedious, however, in the end the cost will never outweigh the investment we paid.

As business professionals, business owners, or entrepreneurs we can more effectively navigate growth through building skills that will improve our mindset. One will never go any higher than their thinking. It is a skill and a discipline to think, do, and speak differently than how we feel. Question is, are you serious about you? One thing is certain, wishing and wanting things to be better never happens without work, without consistent action and committed efforts. Investing in yourself and strengthening your skill set is vital to every area of life. Learning tactics, understanding how things work will improve you and your outlook on life.
People will deny and avoid the truth because it requires confrontation with ones self and self examination. However, the tools you use to measure and examine yourself are just as important. For instance, did you know that praying and prayers are powerful weapons? They require speaking and doing something simultaneously, which engages every part of your being. It is a skill that improves with being exposed to the wisdom of God on a more consistent basis outside your comfort zone. Building your faith and anchoring your hope in Christ is work. The cost of self investments are priceless when it comes to our spiritual well being since the spirit of a man or woman runs the whole show of a life.
